the time has come, die deutsche gesagt hatte...

welcome back! today is the second email, and the oldest one i can find, so thats a definite bummer. i hope that you enjoy this almost-the-oldest email in the chain. a funny point to think on is that my friend, antonio, who was on the study abroad, posted his pictures from 15 years ago to facebook today. there were some good ones in there, and i have attached a couple to this post, so you can get a feel for where you are. i hope this finds you well, and i look forward to our journey together. let me know your thoughts if youve got any you want to share! im glad youre here!

PS--i guess better late, than never, about posting these to this blog! hahahah.

...to speak of many things!  and i shall.

well, dear readers, first a few items of business:
  • if you did not, for whatever reason, get the first email (it was sent on Christmas), and would like to read it email me and ill send it on to you.
  • the plan is to add these emails to my blog so's you can read them later if you delete them (i dont know why you would, but some people are weird like that, ahahahaha), and that url is: http://scheinen.blogspot.com
  • heres hoping that tu gets smashed!  ahahahahaha...i wont know for a few days since ill be in the air for the game, but ill be wearing offensive shirts (you never know whos going to be going to germany at the same time)
so on to the fun...

i leave for germany at 4 pm on 4 january, which is tomorrow.  WEIRD!   my sister is having twins today, so thats crazy too (she has 2 boys already and is expecting 2 more!).  getting ready for this trip has been an emotional rollercoaster because i dont like the unexpected.  im sure it will be fine but still theres that inkling of "what was i on when i thought this was a good idea?" going on.  oh well me guesses; i made a deal with myself that i could freak out as much as i wanted because this decision was irreversible and thats seemed to help a little.

i have spent the better part of my "vacation" driving across this wonderful state to see as many people as i could before i left and i think i canvassed it pretty well.  last week i drove from san antonio to del rio to plano and back via rockdale.  now ill go to houston, so all's i missed was west texas.

God's still preparing me for what i will be learning because He is faithful to me and us all.  i am thoroughly excited to get to go to church in germany this week!  SO weird!  i hope that i can understand enough to make it meaningful, but i know that it will come so i need only be patient and sincere.

happy new year, and i hope that this finds each of you doing well and being thankful for everything in your lives!  the verse from the sermon this week is: Luke 7:47...what does that verse (in context, of course) mean to you?  let me know!

later days!
~sarah
